the craftsmen..

as i draw to the end of my third year i have come to the realisation that all my work is unified in one term: tradition. this sudden thought came while i was forging some wrought iron pieces. Ive always used traditional methods within my work and have a held a certain high regard for others who do also. my current project has evolved and changed so much since the wee gnome people of green hollow, now it has become more of a generic collection of all things associated with 'folk'. here are the finishing pieces I'm going to create models of for my show i hope you enjoy them as much as i have creating them :)

ancestral highways..

've been illustrating folk ballads recently. as the idea evolved i began to just draw vignettes that would be at the bottom of each page and a sort of narrative was born. its just some guy wandering the pilgrim trails.

Aeron the boy who dreamed of adventure..

this is the first image of the main character in a story i'm doing for a commission. the boy is called Aeron and he wishes to be a bold adventurer like the three main warriors of his town. this image is really used to set the scene and the surrounding countryside. there are hints to what he will do on his adventure within the scene, like using his bow, going to the far of mountains to meet the dragon etc hope you like it and more to come :)

a very vain troll..

here's a character i'm currently working on for a commission  hes one of many task a boy must conquer to become a hero. not every hero needs a weapon to defeat a foe though. in the case of this troll all you need is a hand mirror

work work work..

well Ive been extremely busy the last few weeks. i know i always seem to say this at the start of each post but hear me out. projects have evolved, came an gone, presentations flew by like so many leaves in the wind etc so here's some work or rather a collection of different projects Ive been dabbling in enjoy!
