concerning the other folk
well its been an ongoing project Ive been doing since my foundation end of year exhibition. Ive always loved folklore, and i Ive always loved sculpting. making my creations into 3d is one of my favourite ways to feel more connected to my work. of course i still love to illustrate my ideas (these usually being roughs and some presentable) but i feel when something is 3d you can connect with it better. and once their put in real life settings it makes it even better. so here are some images of my creations the snow one are about a year old so hope you enjoy.

little did they know of the event that would follow..
well i know the title of this post is misleading but hey it was a haunted church. the church is supposedly haunted due to an event in the 60s or 70s were two kids thought it would be a good idea to burn it down, the problem being they didn't get out in time and were killed. so now the church is haunted by restless spirits...it does have a very off putting atmosphere inside though..and theres also pictures of Tintern abbey supposedly haunted by monks and some say the devil enjoy :)
"the living to the church i call.
and to the grave will summon all"
a rhyme found on church bells at Skenfrith
rambles here and there
well its been a very long tie since my last post but ive been places and seen things which have really inspired me hope you enjoy it :)

once again on the woodland front...
well its been a recurring theme this past couple of weeks. its always been a central theme actually to my work. yes you guessed it nature! well trees mostly and certain woodland critters. this is for my current project which will some how (haven't figured it out yet) have natural elements within the work. so Ive set about collecting and taking pictures of natural areas which inspire me. also Ive looked at old projects which have this same theme and have assembled them to create a greater body of research so i can be inspired. now using said research i have begun to create characters that are mainly tree like at the moment but also slightly human. so here they are their just rough versions at the moment hope you like them. oh and theres a picture with a face in the leaves, an actual green man :) its right in the middle but is only half a face. enjoy

a very woodland themed post...
well here's some more illustrations that Ive been working on. the first is a concept for a creature I'm making for a graphic novel. me and a dear friend have decided to create a story and characters that will eventually form this graphic novel. we each designed a main character (still working on mine but hell make an appearance) and started to think how they would interact, all i can say is I'm looking forward to seeing all the concepts and sketches. the back round to this creature or "wold walker" is that they are guardians of a wood and they are part tree. the other images are of the green knight. i did not create the coloured image i just love the image an wanted to see how the green knight looked in charcoal and chalk.
well its been a while but now let me tell you of vikings...
yes it has been a while (about a month :/) but I've been very busy honest. well at the moment I've been doing this and doing that and thought id share my current ideas. you may have seen the character Bor on my blog somewhere. hes a viking and is followed by a couple of stout fellows which he calls friends. well i thought about making it into a stop motion entitled "the angry northmen". here are just some of the designs for the characters enjoy.
